It’s time again for a day of fun and games to support the Carbon County Friends of Animals, a shelter in Jim Thorpe that cares for cats.

The event will be held Sunday at the Orioles Community Center, 475 Orioles Drive, Lehighton. Doors open at 10:30 a.m., and games begin at noon.

There will be a cash, gift card, lottery ticket and designer purse bingo; a basket auction; bake sale; and the kitchen will be open.

“We have $1,180 in cash prizes ($500 of that is cover-all prize), $495 gift card prizes, three $50 lottery ticket bundle prizes and six designer purses that you get to choose from if you win at bingo,” said Pam Poeldnurk, CCFOA director. “The basket raffle will have over 90 items and we are having a separate large items raffle for five items that have a value of $150 or more.”

Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. A special raffle will be held for those who bring items from the shelter’s wish list.
