State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following crashes that occurred on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:

• Zakiye S. Bright, 19, of Conshohocken, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 26 at mile marker 78.7 in Franklin Township. He was uninjured in the incident.

Police said he was driving a 2009 Nissan Versa southbound during heavy rain with running/standing water on the roadway. He lost control of the Versa, which hit the center concrete barrier, spun across both lanes and struck a concrete bridge rail and a guide rail on the right side of the road.

The Versa had heavy damage and was towed from the scene.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 1:55 p.m. Sept. 26 at mile marker 96.7 in Kidder Township.

Police said it occurred when John H. Thormann, 60, of Bel Air, Maryland, was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse northbound during a heavy rainstorm. They said he lost control of the vehicle when it struck standing water.

It exited the east berm and hit an embankment, continuing across both lanes and then striking the center concrete barrier.

The Traverse had disabling front-end damage.

• Zinoubia F. Hasasna, 29, of Philadelphia, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 2:08 p.m. Sept. 26 at mile marker 96.4 in Kidder Township. She was uninjured in the incident.

Police said she was driving a 2017 Ford Fusion northbound when she failed to observe a vehicle in front of her slowing down for a crash in the left lane at mile marker 96.7.

They said she lost control of the Fusion, which swerved to the right, at which time Hasasna overcorrected and the car returned to the left lane, striking the center concrete barrier. It then spun across both lanes of travel, left the road, went up an embankment and hit a tree.

The car had heavy damage and was towed from the scene.
