Knowing your stroke risk factors is the first step to taking preventive action.

To help you understand those potential risk factors, Good Shepherd Rehabilitation is hosting a free stroke-risk screening event on Wednesday, Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This annual event will take place at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital, 3200 Center Valley Parkway, Center Valley. RSVP is not required. Walk-ins are welcome.

Attendees will receive screenings and information on the following:

• Total cholesterol and blood sugar screening (fasting not required).

• Heart rate and blood pressure screening.

• Height, weight, body mass index.

• Nutrition education and healthy snack giveaways.
