Jim Thorpe swept the boys and girls team championships Saturday at the Schuylkill Haven Middle School Invitational, with Anna Cunningham and Isaiah Skrimcovsky leading the way with individual victories.

Cunningham, a seventh-grader, won the girls race and helped the Olympians capture the team championship for the second consecutive year.

Jim Thorpe finished with 26 points, well ahead of runner-up Blue Mountain with 48.

Grace Smith placed sixth for the Olympians, while Chelsea Halenar was ninth and Sofia Cuddy finished 10th.

Lehighton’s Mason Splitzer placed 12th.

Skrimcovsky led Jim Thorpe to the boys championship with his individual victory. The Olympians finished with 19 points, comfortably ahead of runner-up Schuylkill Haven with 53.

Joshua Shaffer placed fourth for Jim Thorpe, Sebastian Strubinger was sixth and Roman Goldberg finished 12th.

Lehighton also had two runners among the top 15, with Damian Desmond finishing seventh and Seth Leininger placing 15th.

Ten teams competed in the middle school invitational.
