Sunday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. 3rd St., Lehighton begins at 9:30 a.m. Licensed Lay Minister Kathy Long presides.

Church initiatives:

The Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays (and third Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive supplemental food. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.

Trinity Thrift Store is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and Saturday. Cash only sales. Donations of clothing and household goods will be accepted during store hours. There is a five bag limit. Use door 2 to bring clothing inside.

Looking ahead:

Members of Trinity are invited to take part in the “Lehighton 250 USA, Small Town, Big Story” Parade Sept. 26 at 1 p.m. by walking the route as a group. Gather on Coal Street between 8th and 9th before walking down the route on Iron Street, turn at 3rd Street until its conclusion at the Grove.

“Blessing of the Animals” Oct. 3, 2:30 p.m. on the church lawn. Pets must be secured. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held in Luther Hall.

“Fall Craft and Car Show,” Oct. 4, 1-5 p.m. Any make, model and year car is welcome. Registration by donation noon-1 p.m. Award for “Best in Show” presented. Rain or shine.

Christ Evangelical

Christ Evangelical Free Church, 2420 Blakeslee Blvd., Dr., West in Lehighton holds worship service beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday.

Sunday School: Sunday School for children and youth every Sunday at 11 a.m., except the first Sunday of the month.

Sister Chix: A support group for widows and divorced women, is held the last Sunday of each month at noon. Bring a lunch, but dessert will be provided. To attend, call Jillian at 484-464-3332.

Prayer Shawl Ministry: Second Saturday of each month from 9-11 a.m. Lower parking lot entrance.
