A firetruck parade, along with the housing of its new rescue engine, will honor the 75th anniversary of the Mahoning Valley Fire Company as part of a two-day event.
The Mahoning Valley Fire Company will hold its annual Community Day celebration from 4-10 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at the fire company, 2358 Mahoning Drive W., Lehighton.
The parade will kick off the festivities at 5:30 p.m. Friday before the anniversary ceremony and truck housing, and will travel around the township before it ends in front of the fire company in time for the ceremony and truck housing at 6 p.m.
The parade will begin on Pleasant View Drive in the Summit Ridge development just east of the fire company, where it makes a left onto Mahoning Drive West/Route 902. It will then proceed east to Frederick’s Grove Road, where it will make a right turn and travel to Blakeslee Boulevard Drive E/Route 443. At the intersection, the parade will make a right turn and proceed west to Mill Road, where it will make a right turn. The parade will then turn left onto Mahoning Drive West and end just before Spring House Road.
There will be plenty of food, drinks, games and entertainment.
The Mahoning Valley Fire Company invites all residents to gather along the parade route to participate in the celebration, before joining them back at the fire company for its anniversary ceremony and truck housing.
