Walnutport officials honored resident William Reinheimer on Thursday evening before the borough council meeting, presenting him with a cake and a proclamation declaring Sept. 12, 2026, as William Reinheimer Day.

Reinheimer, known to friends as Billy, was born Sept. 12, 1926, and celebrated his 100th birthday on Saturday.

He lives with his wife, Sandra. The couple has two children, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

“Thank you all for coming,” Reinheimer said. “It’s been a long road to get to 100 years.”

In addition to the borough proclamation, Reinheimer received certificates from state Sen. Nick Miller and Gov. Josh Shapiro.

Reinheimer previously worked for Walnutport Borough. Among his contributions, he built the borough meeting room and the zoning area at Walnutport Borough Hall. He also volunteered with numerous projects and community needs.
