I was working as an LPN at the Weatherwood Nursing Home in Weatherly, doing my morning medication pass. The TV was on in the front room.
Just as I pushed my med cart into the room, I saw the second plane hit the second tower. It was unbelievable to watch, everyone was shocked.
Shortly after that I was paged for a phone call, it was from my son, Jeff, who was stationed in Germany with the Army. He asked me, “Mom, did you see what happened and do you know what it means?”
I said “yes, it means war.”
Just then I knew what my grandmother felt during WWII when both my mother and brother served in the Army.
We need to remember and teach our children to remember what happened to our country that day.
