State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following incidents:

• Police are investigating the reported theft of $8,000 worth of copper wire from a site off Molasses Barrel and Old Mill roads, Washington Township.

The victim is Verizon, Allentown.

The theft occurred during the afternoon hours of Aug. 27, police said.

• Police said that Alfred Saks, 42, of Slatington, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop police made at 12:51 a.m. Aug. 16.

He was stopped in a 2013 Ford F-150 for Title 75 violations on Mauch Chunk Road, North Whitehall Township, after which time police said he was found to be intoxicated.

• Matthew Meli, 22, of Saylorsburg, was cited following an incident at 10:30 p.m. Sept. 4 on Liberty Drive, Allen Township.

Police said he trespassed on property of Prologis, Breinigsville.

• Daniel Smith, 37, of Tamaqua, was charged with terroristic threats after police observed a fight in progress at 1:13 p.m. Sept. 1 at the intersection of routes 309 and 873 in North Whitehall Township.

Police said victims of the incident are two 33-year-old men from Slatington.

They said that Smith brandished a large knife during the fight, which ended when police detained and separated the participants without incident.

A 2013 Dodge Ram truck was involved in the incident, police said.

They said charges against those involved have been approved by the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office but did not specify who in addition to Smith had been charged.
