State police at the Hazleton barracks announced officers will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint and roving DUI patrols on roads in lower Luzerne and Carbon counties from Friday through Sunday, Sept. 11-13.

The checkpoint/patrols are is being held in support of the state police’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Against Drunk Driving Initiative and are designed to reduce alcohol and/or drug-related traffic crashes on area roads.
