Nesquehoning seeks secretary/treasurer

Nesquehoning is beginning the process to find a new borough secretary/treasurer after placing its current secretary on unpaid administrative leave last month.

According to a classified ad published in the Times News, Nesquehoning is looking for candidates to fill the position of borough secretary/treasurer, which is a full-time position. The ad began running in the newspaper on Sept. 5, approximately a week and a half after council voted to place Deborah DelFranco on unpaid leave.

At the time, council did not elaborate on why DelFranco was being placed on leave, but said further action would likely be forthcoming.

On Thursday morning, council President Bruce Nalesnik said via text that DelFranco remains on unpaid leave at this time; and that the borough is investigating other options.

He noted that there will possibly be further action taken at the borough’s September council meeting.

Nesquehoning is accepting applications, which can be obtained at the borough hall, through the close of business on Sept. 18.
