Thank you for writing and publishing your article “Measles mentality tests schools’ immunity” in the Sept. 3 Times News. I recently retired as a school nurse after 25 years. One of the primary roles of a school nurse is to protect our students and community by educating our parents about the value of vaccinations, as a scientifically proven intervention to combat vaccine preventable diseases. With that said, a parent has always had the right to seek moral, religious or medical exemption.

Thank you for reinforcing the life-saving value of following the CDC and PA department of health’s recommendations for vaccines.
