As the nation approaches the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, we are preparing special coverage to remember that day, honor those affected and reflect on its lasting impact.

We’re looking for local residents willing to share their memories and experiences.

Were you in New York City on Sept. 11, 2001? Where were you when the attacks occurred? What do you remember most about that day?

Did you serve as a firefighter, police officer or emergency responder? Whether you were at ground zero, staged nearby awaiting deployment or assisted in the aftermath, we’d like to hear your story.

Were you a teacher that day? How did you explain the unfolding tragedy to your students? What do you remember about the mood in the classroom? How do you teach about 9/11 today?

Have you visited ground zero or the Flight 93 National Memorial near Shanksville? What was that experience like? How did it affect your understanding of the events?

Why do you believe it’s important to remember 9/11? How did that day change your life, your community or the nation?

Twenty-five years later, the memories remain vivid for many. Help us preserve those stories for future generations.
