Weatherly Festival this weekend

The annual Weatherly Festival kicks off this weekend at Eurana Park, featuring food, games, bands and much more, organizers said.

“There will be a Ferris wheel this year,” Michael Bellizia, Weatherly mayor and festival chairman, said this week. “And Kartune is playing again, so that’s a big draw.”

Kartune kicks off the entertainment lineup playing Friday from 6-10 p.m. Rockin’ Ray takes over Saturday from 1- 4 p.m., and Guilty Pleasure closes out the festival from 5-9 p.m.

The cornhole tournament, which people “got a real blast out of last time,” will also return this year, Bellizia said.

The Citizens Fire Co. No. 1 of Weatherly will host the tourney Saturday, with registration at 11 a.m. The bags fly at noon on the Eurana Park pickleball court.

The cornhole even will move inside the Eurana Park pavilion gym in the event of rain.

The festival runs Friday from 5-10 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 9 p.m. with various food vendors, tricky trays, raffles, a beer tent, bounce houses, and local craft and specialty stands.

The festival has been a tradition in the community for more than a decade and gives local organizations an opportunity to raise funds, organizers said.
