Nesquehoning council has put its borough secretary/treasurer on unpaid leave.
During council’s monthly meeting on Wednesday, the board voted to place Deborah DelFranco on unpaid administrative leave, effective immediately. DelFranco was not at the meeting.
There was no discussion prior to the motion.
After the meeting, council President Bruce Nalesnik said that this action was the first step by council, and further action will be forthcoming.
Nalesnik couldn’t comment much on the matter regarding the personnel action, but noted that the treasurer duties will be outsourced, while the secretary duties will be handled in-house at this time.
DelFranco was hired as Nesquehoning’s borough secretary/treasurer in November 2023. She previously served as Rush Township’s secretary/treasurer.
