Marian Catholic High School is beginning its 73rd school year with renewed energy, new opportunities for students and continued investment in the campus, programs and people who make the Marian experience unique.

As students return for the 2026-27 academic year, they will find many of the traditions that generations of Colts and Fillies have come to know and love, along with a campus that has received significant attention and investment over the summer. From improvements designed to enhance campus safety and security to projects refreshing school spaces and strengthening Marian’s curb appeal, the summer has been a busy one throughout the building and grounds. Additional projects remain underway.

Many of the improvements have been made possible through the generosity of Marian alumni, parents, foundations and friends.

Students will find new ways to become part of the Marian community. Among the newest additions is the Blue Legacy Dance Team coached by Samantha Schugardt, Marian’s director of strategic communications. Blue Legacy will perform at athletic contests, pep rallies and other school and community events.

Marian is also introducing #WinatSocial, a student-focused program from The Social Institute designed to help young people develop the skills, confidence and judgment needed to navigate today’s digital world. Through peer-to-peer learning, student insights, educator professional development and resources for families, #WinatSocial gives students practical tools for making positive choices both online and offline.

Among the facilities that have been transformed or enhanced are the Stabler Foundation Science Center, Sonny and Helen Kovatch Chemistry Lab, Anna Marie Rhodunda Velitsky Physics and Engineering Lab, Robert A. Lisella and Frances Hydro Lisella Biology Lab, Jerome and Joan Palko and Svetz Family Virtual and Robotics Lab, Richard and Kathy Kovatch Reaman Family Maker Space Lab, Joe and Kathryn Puskar Library and Research Center, Anna H. Morgan Technology and Business Center, John P. Malarkey ’51 Gymnasium, and the Dr. and Mrs. William Bonner Chapel of the Immaculate Conception.

Recent campus improvements include new LED lighting, refreshed student bathrooms, freshly painted hallways and offices, improved wireless connectivity, enhanced classroom security, new safety railings in Men of Marian Stadium and new outdoor benches, banners and other features celebrating Marian pride.

Marian will host an open house in October to provide families opportunities to tour the campus, meet faculty and students, learn more about academic and extracurricular programs, explore financial assistance opportunities and experience the spirit of Marian firsthand. Families interested in learning more about Marian may also schedule a Shadow Day, allowing prospective students to spend a day on campus and experience life as a Marian student.
