August 12, 2015 — The Schuylkill County Football Coaches Association holds its annual football media day at Mountain Valley Golf Course in Barnesville. In attendance are the 11 Anthracite Football League teams, including five schools from the Times News area — Jim Thorpe, Lehighton, Marian, Panther Valley and Tamaqua. North Schuylkill receives top billing in the coaches poll and the media poll, with Lehighton placing second in both. Marian is picked in each one to finish fourth, with Tamaqua pegged fifth in the coaches poll and Thorpe fifth in the media poll. The Indians, coached by Tom McCarroll, end up going undefeated in the regular season to claim the AFL title.
