PSP Pocono - crashes

State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following crashes that took place on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:

• Chase J. Anderson, 34, of West Deptford, New Jersey, was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 12:20 p.m. Aug. 4 at mile marker 90.3 in Kidder Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township. They said the severity of his injuries is unknown.

They said the crash occurred when Justin R. Kirkham, 30, of Croydon, was driving a 2024 Ford southbound when he veered to the right and struck the rear of a 2026 Mack Truck operated by Anderson.

Police said Kirkham was cited for the incident.

• Taina R. Taveras, 27, of Beaver Meadows, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed following a one-vehicle crash at 1:30 a.m. Aug. 4 at mile marker 275.2 on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township. She was uninjured in the incident.

Police said she was driving a 2013 Honda Accord westbound when she lost control of the vehicle and struck the guide railing on the right side of the road, crossed both lanes and struck the railing on the left side of the road, becoming stuck under the railing. They said the car had damages to its front left and right sides and roof.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 7:58 p.m. Aug. 2 at mile marker 83.1 in Penn Forest Township.

Police said it happened when Kiara Chavez De Mir, 28, of Plains, was driving a 217 Honda Pilot that struck a 2018 Peterbilt driven by Craig T. Jones, 44, of Tunkhannock, after having passed it. The Pilot then struck a concrete barrier.

It had disabling damages.
