State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following crashes that happened on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:

• A driver and four passengers were transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township, after a one-vehicle crash at 12:56 p.m. on July 18 at mile marker 72.7 in East Penn Township.

They included Tyrik Scott, 32; Tatiana M. Scott, 33; two boys, ages 10 and 4; and a 6-year-old girl, all from Weldon, North Carolina.

Police said the crash occurred when Tyrik Scott was driving a 2021 Chevrolet Suburban northbound too fast for wet road conditions and he lost control of it while negotiating a right curve. The vehicle crossed the yellow skip line, entered the right lane of travel, continued over the white fog line to the right of the roadway, struck a road sign and flipped onto its roof.

The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

Police said the driver was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.

• Two vehicles had to be towed from the scene of a crash at 6:20 p.m. on July 19 at mile marker 68.4 in Washington. No one was hurt.

The crash happened when Michael M. Dutz, 73, of Drums, was driving a 2019 Nissan Frontier northbound when it sideswiped a 2024 Jeep driven by Timothy M. Seidel, 44, of Pocono Lake, causing the Jeep to impact a concrete barrier to the right of the highway.

Police said Dutz was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

• Amara Camara, 23, of Darby, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 4:12 a.m. on Aug. 1 at mile marker 82.4 in Penn Forest Township.

Police said he was driving a 2008 Hyundai Elantra when a tire on the car blew out, causing him to lost control of the vehicle that struck a concrete barrier on the left side of the roadway.

• No one was injured in a read-end collision at 2:05 p.m. on July 29 at mile marker 73.5 in East Penn Township.

Police said it happened when Errol D. Curling Jr., 46, of Wilkes-Barre, was driving a 2012 Ford Escape southbound when it rear-ended a 2022 Freightliner operated by Larry D. Riles, 39, of Utica, Mississippi.

Police said the Escape had to be towed from the scene.

They said Curling was cited for careless driving.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 1:05 p.m. on July 18 at mile marker 84.3 in Penn Forest Township.

Police said it happened when Cory W. Zimmerman, 42, of Washington, D.C., was driving a 2025 Nissan Rogue southbound when he lost control of it and the car impacted a concrete barrier to the left of the road.

The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
