Tamaqua police reported on the following incidents:

• Julia Turgeon, 20, of Tamaqua, is free on unsecured bail following a fight in which police said she bit a man’s hand and broke his glasses.

According to police, officers were dispatched to a domestic incident on East Broad Street around 5:11 p.m. on July 28 and spoke to Turgeon. At that time, Turgeon was getting into a vehicle and said that she was leaving the man.

At 5:30 p.m., police were sent to the same location and saw Turgeon and the man arguing. The man had redness on both sides of his neck and broken glasses. He told police that Turgeon grabbed him by his neck and bit his thumb.

A witness told police that he saw the fight and that Turgeon was the aggressor.

Turgeon was charged with disorderly conduct on July 22 for similar behavior involving the male victim.

Turgeon was arraigned before District Judge Stephen Bayer on charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct/engage in fighting and harassment, and is free on $10,000 unsecured bail.

• Police charged Ivette Roman, 55, of Tamaqua, with intimidating a witness/victim and making terroristic threats following a report received at 10:30 p.m. on July 23.

According to police, officers were dispatched to a domestic verbal incident and met Roman and a 17-year-old girl.

Police said Roman was previously charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and that the key witness is the teen.

Officers said Roman has been hostile to the teen, and has threatened to “split her head open” and has said that “if (I am) going to jail, it is going to be for a good reason.”

Roman is free after posting $25,000 percentage bail.

• Police charged Barry Ohl, 33, of Tamaqua, with evading arrest following an 11:39 a.m. on July 26 incident that began on the unit block of Hunter Street.

According to police, officers spotted Ohl and knew that he had an active warrant for his arrest. When Ohl saw officers, he ran.

During the pursuit, Ohl climbed on top of a shed, hopped over a banister and ran through yards on Hunter Street despite being ordered to stop.

Police spotted Ohl hiding behind a porch and were able to take him into custody.
