St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Jim Thorpe, received a new minister when the Rev. Thomas Jeffrey was appointed pastor by the Rev. Francis Thomas of Allentown, superintendent of the North District of the Philadelphia Methodist Conference.

Rev. Jeffrey will succeed the Rev. Robert F. Kohler, pastor of St. Paul’s and Grace Methodist churches in Jim Thorpe since 1964.

Rev. Kohler will leave in September to study at the Seminary of Edinburgh University in Scotland.

Rev. Jeffrey has served the Wesleyan Methodist Church, Bethlehem; St. Peter’s Methodist Church, Reading, and the Canadensis and Mountainhome Methodist churches of the Pocono area.

A pastor for Grace Methodist Church will be named next month.
