Two Summit Hill girls, Carol Brooks and Bonnie Lee Focht, have been selected to receive the God and Country Award during a service at the United Church of Christ in that community.

They are the first in the history of the Girl Scout program in Summit Hill to receive such an award. To attain the honor, the girl must be 11 years of age and must have completed at least 90 hours of Christian service activities under the supervision of the minister. They girls completed this assignment under the guidance of the Rev. Milton A. May.

Brooks is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brooks while Bonnie Lee is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Focht. They are freshman and sophomore students, respectively, in the Panther Valley School District.
