Lansford Borough Council approved the following actions at its July regular meeting:

• A special event form from Grace Community Church in Lansford for a block party, community concert and outreach at 15 W. Ridge St. on Aug. 19 from 5-8:30 p.m. The church is requesting a street closure between Marcos Pizzeria and the Thrift Store after 5 p.m. when the bank closes.

• Writs of execution from Portnoff Law for delinquent taxes and trash fees. Councilman Joe Butrie was opposed.

• The 2026-27 material bids. There was only one bidder, Lehigh Asphalt, Paving and Construction. Pricing varied with materials and amounts with an overall cost of about $159,125.

• Authorizing the renewal of four certificates of deposit for three months at the offered rate of 3.90% from Jim Thorpe Neighborhood Bank. The CDs are in the amounts of $33,432.44; $56,860.74; $56,136.38; and $59,306.16.

• Adopting the No Nonsense Municipal TNR (Trap, Neuter and Release) Contract to control the feral cat problem.

• Adopting the Cloudpermit inspection reporting format at a cost of $5,300 including implementation.

• Support of raising 911 fee to support services in Carbon County Communication Center.

• Advertising for quotes from qualified contractors to clean up blighted properties as needed. Work will include grass cutting, debris removal and additional duties as directed. Council wanted to explore options other than the newspaper for the ads, such as the borough website and social media.

• A resolution for the Community Development Block Grant for 2026. Council has discussed combining several years of funding through the program to pave West Ridge Street.

• Releasing the fire escrow funds for 292 E. Snyder Ave. in the amount of $8,900.

• Denied a request from Familia Esperanza LLC for the vacating of a paper street with the organization paying all costs.

• Tabled action on adopting a Simplified Employee Pension Plan with a 5% contribution for office staff.
