State Police at Fogelsville charged Jorge Miranda, 42, Allentown, with forgery after he write checks to himself from a Weisenberg Township couple’s checking account.

Troopers said Miranda wrote three checks totaling $3,250 to himself in December.

According to police, the victims did not authorize the withdrawals.

Miranda was arraigned July 10 before Magisterial District Judge Karen C. Devine on charges of forgery, access device of another who did not authorize use and receiving stolen property.

He is free after posting $10,000 percentage bail.
