State police at Fern Ridge
State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following incidents:
• A 67-year-old Effort man reported an attempted burglary/criminal trespass incident at 9:55 a.m. June 5 on Twister Oak Lane, Chestnuthill Township.
He told police he found a ladder on his property on that date, and related he also observed other suspicious things there since June 3, including his window screen was removed, possible tool marks were found on his door near the deadbolt and a crowbar was wedged in the screen door on the back of the property.
Police reported that the man said he had not sustained any financial loss due to damage or theft.
• A 66-year-old Albrightsville woman was cited for a Dog Law violation after her dog bit a dog owned by a 48-year-old Albrightsville man.
Police said they were called to Petrarch Trail, Penn Forest Township, where the man reported that the woman’s dog was not confined to a leash and was able to leave the property where the incident took place.
• A 33-year-old man from Middletown, New Jersey, was cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct after police were called to North Meckesville Road, Penn Forest Township, at 12:45 p.m. July 10.
Police said they were summoned to Skirmish Paintball for a report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance and were asked to remove the man from the premises.
• A 39-year-old man from Brodheadsville is the victim of a theft by deception/identity theft incident police were called to at the Best Buy store, Fawn View Road, Chestnuthill Township.
Police said a man entered the store and purchased three items valued at $1,195.59 using the victim’s Best Buy credit card information.
They said he was observed on surveillance and described as being a black male wearing a New York Yankees baseball cap, white T-shirt, red pants with a white stripe down the legs and white sneakers.

• A 35-year-old Mount Bethel Man is facing charges of assault/serious bodily injury after police were called to 220 Whisperwood Court, Chestnuthill Township, at 1 a.m. June 12.
Police said the victim is a 33-year-old woman from Saylorsburg. They said the man punched her in the face, resulting in a fracture of the right eye area.
• Chad Hunter, 48, and Forrest Furry, 52, both from Effort, were cited for harassment by physical contact after police responded to an active domestic incident at 10:23 a.m. July 8 on Silver Maple Road, Chestnuthill Township.
Police said Hunter and a 50-year-old Effort woman are listed as victims of the incident. They said the parties engaged in a verbal and physical altercation.
