State police at Fern Ridge - crashes

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following crashes:

• Samantha M. Santee, 36, of Tobyhanna, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 11:23 p.m. June 14 on Route 534 in Penn Forest Township.

Police said she was transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association to the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre.

Police said she was driving a 2007 Dodge Durango westbound when she lost control of it and the vehicle traveled onto the right shoulder of the road and hit a tree.

The vehicle had heavy damage and was towed from the scene.

Santee was cited after the crash, according to police.

• No one was hurt in a two-vehicle crash at 10:01 a.m. June 7 at the intersection of Warner Drive and Sugar Hollow Road, Chestnuthill Township.

Police said the crash occurred as a Kia Soul traveling south turned east toward Warner Drive and struck a 2016 Subaru Legacy driven by Denise M. Perweiler, 64, of Saylorsburg. Police said the driver of the Soul fled the scene.

They said the Legacy had minor damage.

• Injuries were averted in a two-vehicle crash at 4:46 p.m. June 29 at the intersection of Merwinsburg and Burger Hollow roads, Chestnuthill Township.

Police said the crash occurred when Elizabeth I. Engle, 18, of Kunkletown, was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Impala that turned left from Burger Hollow Road onto the Merwinsburg Road without having proper clearance and struck a 2015 Honda operated southbound on Merwinsburg Road by Mark Douglas, 39, of Albrightsville.

Police said the Honda had disabling damage was towed from the scene, while the Impala had minor damage.

• Raymond C. Pasqua III, 25, and Raymond C. Pasqua Jr., 57, both of Saylorsburg, were injured after a two-vehicle crash at 4:26 p.m. June 4 on Weir Lake Road, Chestnuthill Township.

Police said they were transported by personnel from the West End Ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pocono Campus, East Stroudsburg.

They said the crash occurred as Nathaniel J. Olson, 23, of Brodheadsville, was driving a 2014 Nissan Rogue south on Weir Lake Road when he failed to stop at a red light and the vehicle struck a 2023 Nissan Altima driven by Raymond Pasqua Jr.

Police said both vehicles had heavy damage and were towed from the scene.

Olson was cited for failure to stop at a red light, according to police.

• No one injured in a crash involving a car and a motorcycle at 2:39 p.m. June 4 on Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said the crash occurred as Peter Ventura, 51, of Staten Island, New York, was driving a 2019 Audi sport utility vehicle when it left its lane of travel and struck a 1995 Suzuki motorcycle ridden by Larry F. Derohn Jr., 49, of Effort, while passing. Police said the Audi continued north on Route 115, while Derohn was able to maintain control of the motorcycle and pulled onto the right shoulder of the road.

The motorcycle was removed from the scene.

Police said Ventura was identified through their investigation and was cited for careless driving.
