Jukebox car club celebrates 25 years in style
The car show sponsored by the Jukebox Cruisers Car Club of Jim Thorpe was held in near-perfect weather Saturday on the grounds of Tri-Boro Sportsmen Club, 2110 Canal St., Northampton. The car show was in celebration of the Jukebox Cruisers Car Club’s 25th anniversary.
There was a wide array of well maintained, shiny cars such as the popular 1955 and 1957 Chevy. Older cars dating back to a 1936 Nash Lafayette car, a 1940 Ford Deluxe, a 1963 VW Dune Buggy, several late 1960s Chevy Camaros and more.
There was music, food and vendors. The deejay had the music right with hits from the 1950-70s.
There were vendors selling a variety of items from jewelry to cookies and breads. Julie Gooch, operator of the Gooch Coop LLC, is a popular local food producer including homemade bread, bagels and fresh-baked treats like sourdough chocolate chip cookies and more.

Attendees were calm, enjoying the warm weather sitting under trees or quietly socializing as they listened to nice music. Several robust male attendees who transformed from attendees to revelers went down the boat ramp to wade in the Lehigh River to cool off while about six ducks swam around them.
A portion of the registration fee benefits the Jim Thorpe’s Germantown Grove Club Cast-a-line Special Needs Fishing Derby. Visit jukeboxcruizers.org for more information about the club and their events.
The day turned out to be a successful anniversary celebration for the Jukebox Cruisers Car Club. The weather was great, the music selection was entertaining and attendees were relaxed and comfortable enjoying the ambience of the peaceful environment.
