State police at the Lehighton barracks reported that three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Franklin Township.

Gotti J. Morales, 19, and Jaydon E. Gonzalez, 20, both of Allentown, and Justin Magluilo, 38, of Lehighton, were injured in the crash at 10:40 a.m. July 4 on Pohopoco Drive, police said.

The Allentown men were transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township, while Magluilo was taken there by police.

Police said the Allentown men had suspected minor injuries, while Magluilo had possible injuries.

The crash occurred when Morales was driving a 2018 Honda Civic, with Gonzalez as his passenger. Police said he was traveling at a high rate of speed when the Honda hit the back of a 2023 Dodge Durango that had been operated by Magluilo but was stopped in the westbound lane of traffic with its emergency lights activated.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Morales was cited for following too closely, according to police.
