Northern Valley broke loose for 16 runs to highlight Wednesday’s area action, while Nazareth’s Troy Biedermann tossed a no-hitter and Christmas City captured the Section 6 8-10 Little League Softball championship.

Northern Valley-Saylorsburg

Brandon Gonzalez drove in three runs to help Northern Valley roll to a 16-1 victory over Saylorsburg.

Northern Valley erupted for eight runs in the second inning, highlighted by Gonzalez’s bases-clearing triple. Ben Storch also drove in two runs during the frame.

Storch finished with two hits, while Jacob Spatz added two hits and two RBIs. Calvin Kulp drew three walks.

Troy Biedermann fired a no-hitter to lead Nazareth to a 10-0 victory over Palmerton.

Nazareth scored two runs in both the second and third innings before putting the game away with a five-run fourth.

Jake Rayley had two hits and two RBIs for Nazareth.

Palmerton dropped its fourth straight and will conclude its regular season tonight against Northern Lehigh.

Christmas City-Weatherly

Christmas City captured the Section 6 8-10 Little League Softball championship with a 20-0 victory over Weatherly.

Christmas City scored eight runs in the first inning, added four in the second and capped the scoring with eight more in the third.

Hailey O’Donnell collected Weatherly’s lone hit, while Reya Gregory struck out four.

Roslyn P earned the win for Christmas City. Roslyn finished with three hits, while Grace G and Anna L both drove in three runs. Kylie R added two hits in the victory.
