Eleanor Mily, a trustee to the Lehigh County Community College from the Lehighton Area School District for the past 13 years, has become only the third person from Carbon County to be elected chairman of the trustee board at the college.

The Mahoning Valley resident, who was named to the top post last week, joins Edmund Anderson, 1968-70, and John Brown, 1982-84, as the only Carbon residents to lead the college board. Anderson and Brown were both from Palmerton.

Mily is also only the third woman to serve in the leadership position, which were held by Dr. Muriel Berman of Allentown, 1978-80, and Ruth Knepper, 1986-88.

She will be joined by Annabelle Creveling, Allentown, vice chairman; Urban Byler, Northern Lehigh, secretary; and Richard Frick, Whitehall-Coplay, treasurer.
