Carbon official elected state association president

Carbon County Recorder of Deeds Donna L. Gentile has been sworn in as president of the Pennsylvania Recorders of Deeds Association for the 2026-27 term.

The formal installation took place during the association’s annual convention in State College, where recording officers from across Pennsylvania’s 67 counties gathered to elect leadership, participate in continuing education, and collaborate on statewide property record standards.

“It is a privilege to represent Carbon County on a statewide level and work closely with my colleagues across the Commonwealth,” Gentile said. “As president, my focus will remain on advancing technological innovation, safeguarding property ownership, and sharing modern best practices that benefit both our local community and the state as a whole.”

As a key member of the statewide executive board, Gentile will help direct PRODA’s legislative initiatives, educational programming, and statewide operational goals.

The new executive leadership team also includes first vice president Wendy M. Welfley (Perry County), second vice president Ann M. Hess (Lancaster County), third vice president Tammy Crawford (Lawrence County), treasurer Brianna Bullers (Jefferson County) and secretary Evie Rafalko McNulty (Lackawanna County).

Gentile, who took office as Carbon County’s Recorder of Deeds in 2020 and was reelected to a second term, has consistently prioritized modernization and security in her local administration. Her tenure in Carbon County has been marked by significant technological upgrades, including the launch of automated e-recording systems, ongoing digitization of historical deed books, the expansion of local notary services, and the recent integration of a comprehensive property fraud alert system to protect homeowners against title theft.

Her election to the PRODA executive board ensures Carbon County will have a strong, direct voice in the ongoing legislative and operational changes shaping land records and public archives across Pennsylvania.
