Penn Forest Township conducted the following business:
• Plainfield Solar LLC made a substantive validity challenge to Penn Forest Township’s ordinance regarding solar farms. This will go before the Zoning Hearing Board.
The 2026 road improvement project bid was awarded to H&K for $732,835.79. The project will begin at the end of the month.
• Approval was given for advertising line painting on township roads.
• Line chalk for the softball field and building materials will be purchased at a cost of $729.25. Other approved purchases are a Kubato battery for $225.00, windshield replacement for the F350 at a cost of $781.09, with up to $1,000 for inspection and tire alignment of the vehicle. Fourteen cubic yards of red mulch were purchased for $703, and stone for the park for $300.
• A resolution was adopted urging the Pennsylvania general assembly to re-authorize an increase in the 911 surcharge to support system systems across the state.
• Rich Matsick was hired as a laborer/road crew at a pay rate of $22.70 per hour. Phillip Vitale was hired for the transfer station at a pay of $22.70 hourly.
• The Transfer Station permits for May generated $623 and $2,598 year to date.
• A total of 71.25 hours were used for Right to Know for the month of May.
