Washington Township supervisors approved the following:

• A resolution for selling of township equipment.

• Road paving contract to New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. Inc. at a base bid price of $367,128.16 to include the alternate bid price of $99,769.20 for a total bid price of $466,897.36. It is for Bottom Road, Oakwood, Cider Press, Phillips and Valley Road.

• Hired Ayden Oswald for summer help at the budgeted wage of $17 per hour with no benefits.

• Disabled Veterans Real Property Tax Exemption for Linde Roth, 3616 Oak Ridge Drive, and Phillip MacSparran, 4217 Carolyn Drive.

• Resident Doug Mankos of the 9000 block of North Loop Road said, “The township crew butchered a lot of trees on Loop Road. They cut branches off 8 to10 feet up in the air and never cleaned up the road or my property or my neighbors. We had to go out and clean up and then finish cutting branches that were just left hanging. I feel the crew needs more supervision or more training.” Manager Wade Marlatt will look into it.

• Resident Jeremy Frable, 7618 Williamstown Lane, came to ask about naming the Slatedale Park after his son Chase, who passed away in August 2021. Frable said, “Chase was an athlete who played ball at Slatedale Park and coached there. I will make a yearly donation to the township for grass cutting or whatever is needed.”

The supervisors said that they would discuss it.
