Tamaqua police reported the following incidents:

• Police charged Zion Irizzary, Tamaqua, with trespassing at a borough convenience store at 6:20 p.m. on May 16.

Police said Irizzary visited Fegley’s Mini Mart on Center Street despite being banned from the location following a previous theft incident.

• Police charged Kenneth VanHorn, 47, Tamaqua, with criminal trespass following an 8:36 p.m. on May 17 incident on the 300 block of Clark Street.

Police received a report from a woman who said that she was out with her children, while two older children remained home. She learned that an ex-acquaintance, VanHorn, entered the residence, smashed a television and left.

Police said he told one of the children, “Don’t tell anyone I was here.”

Officers said VanHorn does not live at the home and is not permitted inside.

• Police charged Andrew Ray, 25, of Weatherly, with driving under the influence of alcohol following a 3:13 a.m. on May 24 incident.

Police said they were called to the Five Points intersection for a vehicle parked in the middle of the intersection and subsequently found Ray passed out and drooling in a running vehicle.

He failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for suspicion of DUI. A blood-alcohol test was administered at St. Luke’s Miners Campus in Coaldale.

• Police charged Rickey Jacoby, 60, Tamaqua, with public drunkenness on May 25.

Police were called by a woman at 4:23 p.m., who said that Jacoby threatened to “slice her neck” even though he did not have a weapon and had fled the residence.

A short time later, the woman called police to say that Jacoby had returned. Officers said they found him hiding between a parked car and a grassy area.

According to police, Jacoby had trouble walking and smelled of alcohol.

Police advised the woman on ways to obtain an emergency Protection from Abuse order against Jacoby.
