Rebecca Dietrich, 41, of Allentown, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police say she drove erratically and then parked her car sideways on the 600 block of North Railroad Street in Tamaqua around 7 p.m. June 3.
According to Tamaqua police, officers were alerted to a reckless driver, later identified Dietrich, heading south on Route 309 to Tamaqua.
Police then found Dietrich had parked her car sideways, blocking a one-way street at Thorn’s Cycle and ATV.
Witnesses said Dietrich attempted to leave and seemed “out of it,” so they took her keys.
Police spoke to Dietrich, who they said exhibited signs of intoxication. She admitted to having three alcoholic drinks. She failed field sobriety tests and was taken to St. Luke’s Miners Campus in Coaldale, where a blood-alcohol test was administered.
