The top 50 eighth grade students at the Tamaqua Middle School were recognized at the Academic Achievement luncheon held recently at Basile’s restaurant in Hometown.
Thirteen students received the President’s Outstanding Academic Excellence Award for earning an advanced score on their Pennsylvania System of School Assessment in math or English language arts and having at least a 90% grade-point average.
Two students received the Citizenship Award from state Sen. David Argall.
