Vendor fair and basket raffle

A vendor fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 13 at St. John UCC, 150 Pine St., Tamaqua. Vendors will have a host of items, including Tupperware, Mary Kay, Paparazzi and Paperpie. Baked goods will be available for purchase and the kitchen will be open for lunch starting at 11 a.m.

There will also be a basket raffle and 50/50 drawing.

St. Peter’s — West Penn

The worship service at St. Peter’s Church in West Penn is at 9 a.m. Sunday followed by Adult Sunday School at 10:15 a.m.

On June 7, the 9 a.m. Sunday worship service will have the Sacrament of Holy Communion and will be celebrated as Senior Graduate Sunday.

Calvary Lewistown

Pastor Debra Rogers will deliver the message at the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Calvary Evangelical Church in Lewistown. There will be special music. The 6:30 p.m. Sunday meeting will have informal fellowship and worship with Bible study.

The Wednesday prayer gathering is at 7 p.m. All are welcome to all services.

Graduation Sunday will be held at 11 a.m. June 14. On June 21, there will be a Child Evangelism fellowship, summer missionary presentation and the celebration of Father’s Day.

Rush-Ryan-Delano Seniors

The Rush, Ryan and Delano Senior citizens met on May 26 with 33 members present.

President Robert Neifert opened the meeting with the invocation, “Let Freedom Ring,” recited by a member.

The group welcomed a new member and chanced off a Fourth of July Basket, which was won by a member. The group honored two veterans for their service.

The group thanked all members for a delicious memorial dinner. Drinks were provided. The meeting closed and bingo was played.

The next meeting will be held on June 9, when the group will celebrate its anniversary with a dinner.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on May 21 with 25 members present.

President Jean Machamer opened the meeting with the invocation, “Let Freedom Ring,” recited by a member.

One member was added to the sick list. The group chanced off a memorial basket, which was won by a member. Refreshments were served, the meeting closed and bingo was played.

The group wished all a safe Memorial Day. The group meets at 1 p.m. Thursdays from the Coaldale Complex.
