Bath man charged with drugs, gun possession
A Northampton County man is facing drug and firearm charges after a traffic stop earlier this month in Franklin Township. According to state police at Lehighton, troopers stopped Brandin Brong, 32, of Bath, around 6 p.m. May 2 on Main Road near Canal Street after learning his driver’s license was suspended.
Police said Brong admitted he had recently used what he believed was methamphetamine and told troopers there were drugs inside a backpack in the vehicle. Officers also found a pipe used for smoking methamphetamine in his pocket, according to court papers.
Police said Brong showed signs of impairment during roadside sobriety tests. Troopers also noticed ammunition containers and shooting targets inside the vehicle.
Brong later told police there was a firearm in the center console. Investigators said Brong is prohibited from possessing a firearm because of a prior felony conviction.

Brong faces charges of possessing firearm with manufacturer number altered, possession of firearm prohibited, firearms not to be carried without license, manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, intentional possession of controlled substance by person not registered, use/possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of weapon, driving under influence of alcohol/controlled substance, driving while operating privilege suspended or revoked, restraint systems, and operating vehicle without required financial responsibility.
He is being held in Carbon County Correctional Facility on $50,000 bail.
