A road that runs between Tamaqua and Barnesville will be temporarily shut down in early June for railroad crossing repairs.

Tuscarora Park Road will be closed from Route 309 at Taggartsville near Tamaqua to Main Park Road in Rush Township. The Tuscarora State Park office is on Main Park Road.

The closure will begin on June 8 and continue through June 18 for railroad crossing re-construction, according to Sean Brown, a spokesman for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

Brown said the detour will use routes 309 and 54, along with Tuscarora Mountain Drive.
