All are invited to a special evening celebrating art, community and the nation’s birthday with the official unveiling of the Schuylkill County PA250 Bell, titled “Freedom to Change.”
The bell, created by Tamaqua Area Middle School students under the direction of Kim Woodward, will be unveiled at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on the Tamaqua Train Station platform.
Guests are encouraged to arrive early.
The “Freedom to Change” bell represents creativity, collaboration and the spirit of Schuylkill County. The project is part of the statewide PA250 initiative, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States.
Following the unveiling, The Cressona Band will perform at 7 p.m., officially kicking off the Tamaqua Chamber Summer Concert Series. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to enjoy an evening of live music.
“This project showcases the incredible talent of our students and highlights the importance of the arts in our community,” said Aimee Dotson, executive director of the Tamaqua Chamber of Commerce. “We’re excited to celebrate this milestone with the public and invite everyone to come out and support the arts.”
