Democratic committee posts decided in Monroe townships
Jack K. Talbot and Kathleen M. Kilker were winners of Democratic committeemen and committeewoman posts, respectively, in balloting among Monroe County communities in the Times News coverage area.
Talbot defeated Nick Cirranello by a margin of 158-109 in balloting for the Democratic committeeman position in Hamilton Township’s South District, while Kilker was a 179-91 winner over Elizabeth S. Katz to win the committeewoman post in the same district.
Meanwhile, numerous candidates were unopposed in bids to represent their voting district on the county committee. The candidates in those districts and their vote totals included:
Polk Township, Trenton Barry Schaffer, 425, and Farrah L. Schaffer, 428; Tunkhannock Township East, Elyse Nehring, 207, and Alex Jackson, 210; Tunkhannock Township West, Herbert Bryan Jr., 182; Chestnuthill Township Third, Nicholas Oviedo, 140, and Teresa Daly, 156; Hamilton Township North, Mariam Juya, 357, William Ramon Sanchez, 249, and Ferdows Juya, 111; Eldred Township, Alyssa Meadows, 153; and Ross Township Second, Linda M. Zak, 181.
GOP committee
There were no contests for Republican committee positions in the townships. The unopposed candidates and their complimentary vote totals included:
