Tamaqua police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Ashley Kane, 37, of Tamaqua, following an 8:50 p.m. May 20 incident on the unit block of East Elm Street.

Police said a woman reported that Kane had been assaulting her for several days. Before police arrived, the victim said that Kane was grabbing and punching her. Police said they observed scratches and lacerations on her arms, neck and chest. The victim said she had been attempting to flee from Kane for some time. She was able to escape Tuesday evening and called police from a neighbor’s house.

She said Kane fled from the scene.

Police will charge Kane with simple assault harassment.
