The No. 9 Coal Mine and Museum in Lansford will present an Old-Fashioned Miners’ Picnic from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday on the mine grounds, rain or shine.
The annual Miners’ Picnic, which traditionally kicks off the Memorial Day weekend, will also celebrate America’s 250th, organizers said.
The picnic features ethnic foods including halupki, pierogies and haluski, along with other favorites, such as bean soup turkey and beef barbecues, baked goods and more.
Also featured is a Classic and Antique Car Cruise sponsored by the Anthracite Region AACA. A wide range of vehicles will be on display, but there will be no judging.
The No. 9 mine will be open for tours and museum visits, including the new Dorrance Fan House. DJ Shawn will provide the music and organizers promise lots of fun for the whole family.
