Lansford Borough Council
Lansford Borough Council recently conducted the following business:
• Approved a list of condemned properties that the solicitor will place a notice of violations of record on the deeds. Properties include: 18 E. Ridge St., 362 W. Patterson St., 239 E. Ridge St., 305 E. Patterson St., 547 E. Abbott St., 144 E. Abbott St., 352 W. Snyder St., 354-356 W. Abbott St., 515 E. Ridge St., 541 E. Abbott St., 39-41-43-45 E. Ridge St., 505 E. Ridge St., 503 E. Ridge St., 316 W. Patterson St. and 334 W. Bertsch St.
• Approved the solicitor to file a formal action of nuisance complaint in Carbon County Court against the property owner of 18 E. Ridge St. to require the demolition. It is the former Silvers furniture building.
• Approved a proposal from Torres Reliable Cleaning Services for cleaning the borough hall and police department for one cleaning at $160 and $200, respectively. Council will act on a contract once actual prices moving forward are established.
• Approved a letter be sent to BET Lehigh Real Estate LLC for a meeting to address excessive water runoff coming onto Spring Street.
• Rejected a special services agreement with ARRO Engineering dated May 4, 2026, related to the replacement of the Powell Street sewer line and laterals and seek another engineer for the project. Council did not like the disclaimers on the agreement and lack of a guarantee.
• Approved a bill for the completed work in the 100-block of Front Street from Joe Hutta for $19,650.
• Approved an ordinance regulating skill-based games and requiring licenses.
• Approved paying Leonard Ruggiero $700 for repairing a resident’s sidewalk at 383 W. Ridge St. for damage by the borough during snow removal.
