The Rev. William T. Longsdorf of the United Church of Christ, Palmerton, has been elected a trustee of the Lancaster Theological Seminary.

The seminary has 30 members on its board of trustees, with Rev. Longsdorf having recently been elected a member at-large.

He is a 1944 graduate of the seminary and is currently serving as president of its alumni association.

He became chief executive officer of the Penn Northeast Conference last year after previously having served as president of the Eastern Pennsylvania Synod of the Evangelical and Reformed Church.

The conference was formed in 1962 when the Northeast Association of the Congregational Christian Churches merged with the Lehigh, Susquehanna and East Penn Reformed synods. It is composed of 215 churches with 64,000 members.
