Local Roundup: Results from May 11
The Panther Valley baseball and Weatherly softball teams both ended the regular season with extra-inning wins on Monday.
BASEBALL
Panther Valley-Minersville
Panther Valley closed its season on a positive note, gaining a 5-3 extra-inning victory over Minersville in the consolation game of the Rothermel Tournament.
Tied after seven innings, Peter Kruslicky delivered a two-run single in the top of the eighth to give the Panthers a lead. Gavin Yuricheck pitched a scoreless bottom of the eighth to secure the win.
Danny Wehr had two hits, a run and an RBI for PV, while Carson Jones added a pair of hits and a run. Gabe Perilli chipped in with a double and a run.
Wehr started on the mound for the winners, tossing 5 2/3 innings. He allowed five hits and two runs while striking out eight.

SOFTBALL
Weatherly-CMVT
Weatherly exploded for seven runs in the ninth inning to claim an 11-4 non-league win over Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech in the Wreckers’ regular-season finale.
Tied at 4-4, Rebecca Caldwell blasted a three-run homer in the ninth to give Weatherly the lead. Jillian Esposito added a two-run single during the frame, while Elizabeth Digenaro and Olivia Marasco both contributed RBI hits.
Abby Binder pitched all nine innings for the Wreckers, allowing just two earned runs and striking out 12.
Abby Weston finished with three hits, two runs and two RBIs for Weatherly, while Madison Makowiec also collected three hits — two of them doubles. Caldwell and Digenaro both ended with two hits.
