Elizabeth K. O’Malley was remembered during a memorial program held at the Tamaqua Public Library.

Library director Debi Dodson said $1,600 in book memorials had been donated to the library in O’Malley’s name.

In her honor, a plaque was placed on the wall of the library featuring the inscription: “Libraries are not made, they grow.”

Among those attending the ceremony were her sons, Michael J. O’Malley III and James O’Malley, and daughters, Lisabeth Corinchock and Patricia Regalis.

Library board president John Handler recalled Mrs. O’Malley, saying, “She was always very cordial, outgoing and hospitable. We all had Victorian houses, and we treasurer them and enjoyed them.”
