April 23, 1964 — Lehighton scores runs in each of the first four innings to help gain a 12-7 victory over neighboring Jim Thorpe. The Indians, who plate four runs in the first inning and add three more in the third, collect 18 hits in the contest. Leading the way offensively is Jay Barry, who finishes 5-for-5 and scores a pair of runs. Kerry Bowman collects three hits and knocks in four runs, while Jake Boyer adds three hits and three runs. Lehighton, coached by Dallas Heffner, also receives a pair of hits and two RBIs from Drew Yenser. For the Olympians, Jack Kmetz goes 3-for-4 with a run scored.
