State police at Lehighton

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 33-year-old Coaldale woman is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 1:48 p.m. April 3.

She was stopped in a 2014 Jeep Compass for numerous traffic violations on West Bertsch Street in Lansford.

• A 56-year-old Lansford man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 8:29 p.m. March 30.

He was stopped in a 2025 Jianshe motorcycle for numerous traffic violations on East Kline Avenue in Lansford.

• A 44-year-old Nesquehoning man is facing drug possession charges after police made a traffic stop at 4:19 p.m. March 23.

He was stopped in a 2007 Ford Focus in the 100 block of the Sgt. Stanley Hoffman Boulevard, Lehighton, for numerous traffic violations.

• Police are investigating an incident involving the endangerment of the welfare of a child.

They were notified of the incident involving a 6-year-old boy from Saylorsburg at 1:18 p.m. March 31 on Vista Circle, Ross Township.

• Police were called to a simple trespass report at 5:50 p.m. March 29 to 57 Road, Lower Towamensing Township.

They said the complaint of an unauthorized person on the property, made by an 18-year-old woman from Madison Township, was determined to be unfounded.

• A 30-year-old Kunkletown man is facing citations of the state Dog Law after police were called to Crabapple Lane, Polk Township, at 4 p.m. April 4.

Victims of the incident are a 39-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman, both from Kunkletown.

Police said the Kunkletown man’s dog went onto neighbor’s properties, causing an inconvenience to the property owners.

• Police were beckoned to 57 Road, Lower Towamensing Township on March 21 to retrieve firearms/weapons as part of a Protection From Abuse court order.

They said they contacted by the county sheriff’s office and were advised the defendant, Randolph Shipwash, was served the order at the Carbon County Correctional Facility, Nesquehoning, and there were no firearms to be relinquished at this time.

• A 50-year-old Altoona man was cited for simple trespass after police were called to the area of the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township.

The incident occurred at 11:50 p.m. April 2.

• A state police fire marshal was called to a fire scene at 9:41 a.m. April 4 on Recreation Drive, Penn Forest Township.

Police said it was determined the fire was accidental in nature.

• A 43-year-old Bowmanstown man is facing drug possession charges.

Police said they found him to be in possession of methamphetamine and a glass smoking device upon serving the man a warrant at Route 248 and Lehigh Drive, Bowmanstown, at 5:42 p.m. April 6.

• A 56-year-old Kresgeville man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police made a traffic stop on March 22.

He was stopped in a 2024 Nissan 370Z for multiple traffic violations on Interchange Road in Towamensing Township.

• A 19-year-old Jim Thorpe man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 5:07 p.m. March 21.

He was stopped in a 2013 Ford Escape for a Motor Vehicle Code violation on Bankway Street in Lehighton.
