State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following incidents:
• Jose Saldana, 25, of Hazleton, was cited for retail theft (shoplifting) after police were called to the Walmart Supercenter, 35 Plaza Drive, Rush Township (Hometown), at 4:19 p.m. April 7.
Police said he was caught stealing merchandise valued at $18.96.
• A 43-year-old man is the victim of a harassment by communications incident police were called to at the State Correctional Institute at Frackville, Altamont Boulevard, Ryan Township.
Police said the incident took place between 5:09 and 7 p.m. Dec. 16.
The report was made in accordance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act, police said.
• Police were called to a case of lost/mislaid property on Plaza Drive, Rush Township (Hometown), at 7:16 p.m. April 6.
They said a 37-year-old Hazleton man reported that he left his black and tan Taurus G3 firearm in his shopping cart while loading groceries in his vehicle.
Reported stolen were the gun, valued at $240; a 17-round magazine, valued at $20; a black Adidas shoulder bag, valued at $30; a Florida driver’s license; and $460 in cash.
